Right Livelihood

Right Livelihood means to earn one's living in a righteous way. One should acquire one's outcome only by legal means, and it should be acquired peacefully and honestly in ways which do not bring harm and suffering to others. Occupations that require violation of right speech and right action are clearly wrong forms of livelihood and so are other occupations, such as selling weapons or intoxicants, because of their consequences for others. Traditionally, five specific kinds of wrong livelihood are mentioned as to be avoided:
